Your clients book through our software, fill in our intake forms and read our reminders. If any of that is unusable for someone, it is your clinic they cannot reach. This page says what we have fixed, what we have not tested yet, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

What we are aiming at

We are building towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the bar public bodies and most large organisations are held to, and it is the one a clinic is most likely to be asked about.

We are not there yet, and we are not going to put a badge on this page saying we are. No independent audit has been carried out, and we have not yet completed our own full review. What follows is a status report, not a conformance claim.

In place today

Each of these was measured, not assumed.

Text contrast

Body text, headings and every status label meet the AA ratio. Our solid buttons used to carry white on a mid teal at 3.74:1, which fails; they now sit at 12.38:1. Colour is never the only way a status is communicated — every label carries a word as well.

Keyboard focus

One visible focus outline applies across links, buttons and menus, and every page carries a skip link to its main content. A previous version of the styling named a focus ring colour without a width, which drew nothing at all.

Forms

Inputs, selects and checkboxes are real form controls with real labels, rendered from one shared set of styles rather than hand-spelled per page. A placeholder is never used in place of a label.

Motion

Every animation in the product is disabled for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion. There is nothing that flashes, nothing that auto-plays and nothing that moves while you are trying to read it.

Not tested yet

We would rather you read this list now than discover it with a client on the phone.

  • Screen readers. We have not completed a pass with NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver. We do not know how the calendar and the charting screens announce themselves, and we are not going to guess.
  • Dragging. Rescheduling an appointment by dragging it on the calendar needs an equivalent that does not require a drag. We have not confirmed that every drag in the product has one.
  • Drawing surfaces. Body charts and signature capture are pointer-based by nature. Alternatives for both are unresolved.
  • Generated PDFs. Invoices, receipts and treatment plans are not yet tagged for reading order, so a screen reader will not handle them well even where the web page it came from is fine.
  • Email templates. Reminders and statements have not been checked for structure or alternative text.
  • Zoom and small screens. The calendar is the hard case and has not been verified at 200% or at 320px wide.

Tell us about a barrier

If something in Whenaro is unusable for you or for one of your clients, we want the detail: what you were trying to do, what page you were on, and what assistive technology you were using if any. We will tell you whether we can fix it and roughly when, and we will say so plainly if the answer is not soon.

Reports from a clinic's own client are just as welcome as reports from a practitioner.
